I was at Thermal this past Monday and drove the 600LT back to back with my 570S Spider. I should note that my car had Finspeed wheels and Hoosiers on it while the 600LT had stock wheels and Trofeo Rs. Having said that, there was still a profound difference. The day was not ideal at around 50F and overcast and a bit breezy. While I am sure the engines loved that temp, with our relatively short sessions on track, I was not able to get a ton of heat in the Hoosiers. In fact, I think the hottest they got was around 180F. Not ideal for them.

To refresh, the major differences (at least from a performance standpoint, include (approximately):
1. 30 more HP
2. 34% stiffer from and 30% stiffer rear shocks
3. 720 brakes
4. About 230 pounds less weight. This model had the sport seats so the difference was likely less than this.
5. Aerodynamic downforce.

Coming out of the corners, my car would break traction, a further indication that I was just not able to get enough heat into them. Meanwhile, the 600LT never broke traction despite my best efforts. The LT was just a monster out of the corners. It was so much more precise, the steering so much sharper (and quicker), that you were able to place the car with pin point accuracy. The acceleration down the straights belied the additional HP and reduced weight. Both seemed like they were more than advertised. At least on the track, the suspension seemed perfect. Just the right amount of jounce and rebound control. Even clipping a few of the curbs did not seem to upset the chassis. For what is seemingly not that much of a difference, the performance envelope seems larger than expected. I was utterly amazed and wish that I could find a way to step up to this car. I may see what kidneys are currently going for.

If you get the chance to drive one on track, jump on it.

Fellow forum member @jshgldstn was there too in his white 570S and reported similar differences between the two. Did you get a chance to get in the GT4 as well?
It seems like it was a fantastic day put on by BHMac.

Was out there as well in my white 675LT...got to meet Kurt and and his fine Finspeed wheel products!! We had some fun out there. O'Gara always puts on a fine day.
I got some time in the GT4 but, as previously mentioned, it was a cool day and it was hard getting the slicks up to temp in the relatively short session.

I was not able to get any seat time in the GT4 but hope to next time. I am sure it is on yet another level. What a great time we live in!

Thanks for the kind words Mark. I have to say, you are quite the driver. You were tearing it up out there. I hope to see you again soon. DM me your email if you don't mind.

Kurt and Mark - I'm Josh. I was there too in a white 570S coupe. Mark - I lapped behind you for quite a while. You made me work for it! I may have some video of that session. I have to go look. Hopefully I'll see you at the next event.
